Southfork....morning

Christopher is still sleeping soundly in his bed as Courtney is in the bathroom getting dressed following a shower.  After a moment, Courtney comes out of the bathroom.  She

is surprised to find Christopher still asleep.  She stops, looks at him, and smiles lovingly.  "Christopher," she says in a soft whisper.  "How did I get so lucky?  You really are the most wonderful man I've ever met, and I don't think I could possibly be anymore in love."

"I feel the same way,"  Christopher says, his eyes still closed.  He smiles, then opens his eyes.

"Very funny, Christopher, I thought you were still asleep."

He sits up in bed and looks at her.  "Nah, just resting my eyes while you showered.  That was a lovely thing you said."

"I meant every word."

"I know,"  Christopher says.  "You thought I was asleep, and no one would lie to someone who's asleep.  Courtney, I feel the same way about you.  Of all the relationships I've had, I feel that this.......THIS.... relationship with you is the most solid and stable one I've ever been in."

"Even with my little bombshell I dropped on you a few months ago about my son, and the search for my little boy?"

"Yeah.  Elena, Pamela, and even Heather, they all had baggage.  A lot of complications that you don't have.  Pamela......my whole relationship and marriage to her was a farce built on a lie because I thought she was really Rebecca Sutter.  With Elena......John Ross was always between us.  And Heather, when we were together, she still had feelings for Bo."

"Speaking of Heather, I can't tell you how happy it makes me feel that she asked me to be her maid of honor."

"Yeah, I was glad she did that,"  says Christopher.  "But, it's not gonna bother you?"

"Why would it bother me?"

"Well, Heather IS my ex-girlfriend."

"You and Heather were a long time ago,"  Courtney says, taking a seat beside him on the bed.  "She's marrying your brother now, and I have nothing to worry about."

"You've certainly got that right,"  Christopher says.  "Because I have no intention of ever looking at another woman again, or of letting you go.  I love you, Courtney Wapner, and, I've been doing a lot of thinking.  We're gonna have a wedding here tomorrow morning at 11 when Lucas and Heather tie the knot.  Maybe you and I should think about having a wedding of our own soon."

"Are you asking me to marry you?"

"No.  When I do propose to you, Courtney, I'm gonna do it right, with a ring.  I'm just saying that, maybe 2017 should be the year you become the next Mrs. Ewing."

"2017,"  Courtney says.  "The year I become the next Mrs. Ewing, and........hopefully the year my prayers are answered and I find my little boy.  My Jacob."

Christopher smiles, then leans over and kisses her.

The dining room....

Meanwhile, Bobby, Ann, Lucy, Lucas, Heather, and Michael were seated around the dining room table having breakfast as Maria pours Ann another cup of coffee.

"Thank you, Maria,"  Ann says.

"UGH!"  Heather says.  "I have a million things to do before the wedding tomorrow."

"Sweety, don't worry,"  says Ann.  "You've got plenty of help."

"It sure is gonna be a busy day,"  Bobby says.  "First the wedding at 11, and then the Oil Baron's Ball tomorrow night."

"Yeah, maybe we should just postpone the wedding for a week?"  Heather asks.

"No way,"  Lucas protests.  "I've waited long enough to make you my wife, and I'm not gonna wait a day longer."

"Postponing the wedding won't be necessary,"  Bobby says.

"That's right,"  Lucy says.  "As Ann said, you've got PLENTY of help with all these Ewings around, and we're gonna get this wedding done, AND have a great New Years Eve at the Oil Baron's Ball tomorrow night."

"Lucy's right,"  Ann agrees.

"Of course, y'know, you MIGHT wanna consider changing the location of your wedding unless you wanna fall victim to the infamous Southfork wedding jinx,"  Lucy says.

Heather almost chokes on her orange juice.  She puts the juice down and looks across the table at Lucy.  "The what?"  She asks.

"Nothing,"  Lucas says quickly.  "Lucy is just talking.  As usual."

Before anyone else can say another word, John Ross and Krystina walk into the dining room. "Well, mornin', fam'ly,"  John Ross says as they take their seats at the table.

"Morning, John Ross,"  Bobby says.

"Krystina, I'm really glad you're here,"  says Heather.  "I have a favor to ask."

"Of course, anything,"  Krystina says.  "Just name it."

"Would you be one of my bridesmaids?"  Heather asks.

"You want me to be a bridesmaid?"

"Yes.  I do, and I'm really happy that you're back home at Southfork."

"Heather, I would be HONORED to be one of your bridesmaids.  Thank you."

"You're welcome, and thank YOU."

"And Lucas, if you're in the market for a best man, I'd be more'n happy to step up and do the cousinly thing and fill that role for ya,"  John Ross says as a joke.

"Gee, thanks, John Ross,"  Lucas says sarcastically.  "But, umm, already got that covered.  My Dad's gonna be my best man."

John Ross shakes his head as he smiles.  "Darn, what a disappointment," he says.

"Well, Michael, hurry up, we gotta go,"  Lucas says.

"Where're you guys going so early?"  Krystina asks.

"I'm taking Michael into Dallas to buy him a suit for the wedding tomorrow."

"I'm all done," the little boy says.

"Honey, you didn't eat much,"  Heather says to her son.

"Not hungry,"  Michael says, getting up from the table.

"Okay, then,"  says Lucas.  "Grab your coat and we'll go."  Lucas gets up from the table.  "We'll be back in a couple hours," he says, leaning down to kiss Heather.  "Sure you don't wanna come with us?"

"Nah, you and Michael need this time."

"Okay, be back in a bit,"  Lucas says, then walks out with Michael.

Heather sighs.

"Is Michael okay, Heather?"  Bobby asks.

"Is he still having problems from the kidnapping?"  Lucy asks.

"Well, we've been seeing Dr. Benson once a week for the last three weeks, but, Michael still just won't open up.  It's like he's keeping everything that happened bottled up inside of him."

Sue Ellen's home....

Meanwhile, Sue Ellen, Catlin, his sister Blaine, her husband Sandy, and their Aunt Corrine are having breakfast in Sue Ellen's dining room that morning, and various conversations are going on around the table as the doorbell rings.  A moment later, Sue Ellen's maid comes into the dining room.

"Excuse me," the maid says.

"Yes, Joanne?"  Asks Sue Ellen.

"There's a man here to see Mr. Ewing."

"Oh?"  Catlin asks.  He gets up from the table.  "To see me?"

"Yes, sir."

Catlin looks at Sue Ellen curiously, then walks into the foyer and to the front door, where a man of about 30 is waiting.  "May I help you?"  Catlin asks.

"Are you Catlin Ewing, Sr.?"

"Yes."

The man hands Catlin and envelope.  "Have a nice day, and Happy New Year," the man says, then turns and leaves quickly.

Catlin looks at the envelope and the address.  He returns to the dining room, opening the letter as he walks.

"Catlin, who was at the door?"  Sue Ellen asks.

"I dunno.  Some guy just left this with me."  Catlin gets the envelope opens and takes out a piece of paper.  He looks at it, an angry expression coming over his face.

"What is it, Catlin?"  Blaine asks her brother.

"Damn," he says angrily.  "Brittany.  She's suing me."

"Suing you?"  Sue Ellen asks.

"Yes.  She's counter suing me in the divorce......on grounds of mental cruelty and adultery."

"Oh my God, is she SERIOUS with this?"  Sue Ellen asks.

"Apparently, she is,"  Catlin says.  "And she's NOT gonna get away with it."  He starts to leave.

"Where are you going?"  Sue Ellen asks.

"To me my DARLING soon-to-be ex-wife!"

"Catlin, you can't just go barging over there when you're angry like this," Blaine says.

"Watch me!"

"Catlin, wait, I'll come with you,"  Sandy says, getting up from the table.

"No, thanks, Sandy.  This is somethin' I've gotta do by myself,"  Catlin says as he storms out, Sue Ellen following him.  As Catlin rushes out of the house, he meets his son C.J. walking up to the front door, and Catlin brushes past him as if he doesn't even see him.

"Dad, where're you going?"  C.J., but Catlin ignores his son and keeps going.  "Dad, what's wrong?!"  Again, Catlin seems to not hear his son's question as he gets into his car and

speeds away as Sue Ellen and C.J. watch. "Sue Ellen, where's he goin'?"  C.J. asks. "What happened?"

Sue Ellen sighs.  "Your mother happened," she replies.

A worried C.J. turns and looks at Sue Ellen, feeling both frustration that his mother is causing yet more trouble for his father, and feeling concern over how his father will react when he sees her.

A doctor's office in Dallas....

Pamela is sitting in the examining room of a doctor's office in Dallas late that morning when her OBGYN comes in.

"Pamela, how are you feeling?"  The female doctor asks.

"I'm okay.  How's my baby?"

"Our initial tests show the baby is just fine.  I'm sure that you and your husband were taken by surprise with this pregnancy, coming so soon after Hunter's birth.  But I can imagine Mr. McKay must be thrilled."

Pamela begins to cry as she looks at the doctor.  "I'm sorry," she says.

"It's alright.  Pamela, what is it?  What's going on?  I've had this feeling that you aren't very happy about this pregnancy."

"It's just.......it's the circumstances."

"I'm afraid I don't understand."

"Dr. Miller, I can't talk about it,"  Pamela says.

"Pamela, I'm your doctor.  Anything you say goes no further than this room.  And if you don't tell me what's wrong, then I can't help you."

Pamela wipes the tears from her face.  "This baby.......it isn't Tripp's.  He doesn't even know yet that I'm pregnant."

"I see,"  says Dr. Miller.

"Look, before you say anything, and before you get the wrong idea, I did NOT cheat on my husband."

"Pamela, I don't understand," Dr. Miller says.

"I was........" Pamela pauses as she chokes back more tears.  "I was raped, Dr. Miller.  When I was kidnapped.  The man who kidnapped my mother and I......he raped me."

"Oh my God.  Oh, Pamela, I'm so sorry.  Why didn't you tell me?"

"No one knows.  No one but my Mom."

"You mean your husband doesn't even know that you were raped?"  Dr. Miller asks.

"No."

"Pamela, your pregnancy is already showing.  How is it that Tripp doesn't know?  Unless..... unless you haven't been intimate with him recently?"

Pamela looks at the doctor and begins to cry again.  "I haven't.  I just can't.  Dr. Miller, I've tried, but every time Tripp touches me.........I get scared.  I have these flashbacks to the night Scott Van Buren raped me, and I push Tripp away.  He doesn't even sleep in our bedroom anymore, and we barely talk."

"Pamela, listen to me.  You HAVE to tell him.  What happened to you was NOT your fault, and you have no reason to feel that it was.  What you're experiencing is a classic case of post traumatic stress syndrome.  Honey, your husband could be your biggest support right now. And you're gonna have to tell him, and SOON."

"Not if I have an abortion,"  Pamela says, crying.

"Oh, Pamela.....abortion is not a word to be thrown around lightly.  Have you truly thought this through?"

"That's all I've done is think.  And I can't believe that I actually just said I could have an abortion.  But the more time passes.........every time I think I'm ready to tell Tripp what happened, I can't.  How do I tell my husband that I was raped and I'm carrying the child of my rapist?"

"I remember when you were pregnant with Hunter a year ago, and Tripp would come with you to your doctor's appointments.  Pamela, you seem to have a wonderful and loving husband.  But how long is he going to remain that way if he continues to think you're pushing him away for no reason?  Or if he finds out about this pregnancy by accident?  Let him in, Pamela.  Let him share this with you, and let him comfort you.  But, I also think you need professional help."

"You mean like......a psychiatrist?"

"Yes.  I think that you and Tripp could both use some counseling to get through this.  And a support group for victims of rape and other sexual crimes would also be beneficial.  All this time you've been carrying this burden on your own, but you don't have to.  Let those who love you carry it WITH you."

Pamela looks at the doctor and nods.

Brad Stone's apartment....

Brittany makes her way from Brad's bedroom through his living room as someone is pounding on his door.  "Hold on, I'm coming," she says.  "Damn."  She opens the door and Catlin rushes into the apartment.

"Brittany, what the HELL do you think you're doing?"  He angrily asks.

"Wow, I never get a 'hello, Brittany, how are you today' from you anymore," she says, closing the door.

Catlin holds out the paper delivered to him earlier.  "What the hell is THIS all about?"

"Just what it says,"  replies Brittany.  "You want a divorce?  Okay, I'm willing to give you a divorce. But, be prepared for one hell of an ugly divorce. That woman you're shacked up with should prepare herself, as well.  She's going to be named as co-respondent in our divorce, and I intend to bring out ALL of her ugly history.....the drinking, the affairs she's had over the years.  The fact that, in 1988, she shot her husband.  Or had she even told you about that?"

"Yes, I know all about that.  I see you've done your research."

Brittany smiles.  "Of course I have.  I probably know more about Sue Ellen Ewing now than she knows about herself.  That 1988 incident in which she gunned down your cousin J.R...... she was shacked up with another man then while still married to J.R.  Bringing all this out into open court will create quite a scandal for dear Sue Ellen and her family.  And then of course there's YOUR sins over the years.  Mental cruelty, wife abuse."

"Wife abuse?  What the hell are you talking about?  I never abused you."

"But will the court believe that?  And the public?  I'm very good at playing the victim, Catlin."

"You'd really do that to your own son?"  Catlin asks.  "You'd drag C.J. through something like that just for spite against me and Sue Ellen?"

"You poisoned my son against me,"  Brittany says.  "Now it's MY turn to do a little poisoning of my own."

"You BITCH!"  Catlin says.  He starts toward Brittany and grabs her by both arms just as Brad walks into the apartment.

"What the hell's goin' on here?"   Brad asks.

"Nothing," Brittany replies.  "Catlin was JUST leaving."

"You heard the lady,"  Brad says.  "Get out."

"This is between me and my wife, pal, this is NONE of your damned business!"  Catlin says.

"This is MY apartment, PAL!"  Brad says. "Whatever goes on here is MY business, and I'm telling you to leave."

Catlin looks at Brittany for a moment, then at Brad.  He walks over to Brad.  "Let me give you a piece of advice,"  Catlin says. "If you don't want constant drama and to have your life ruined, you'll get rid of her as fast as you can.  Or else you're gonna get dragged into this, too."

"You threatening me?"  Brad asks.

"Just warning you.  I lived with that woman for over 25 years.  She's trouble."  Without another word, Catlin leaves.

Brad looks at Brittany.  "You mind telling me what that was all about?"

Brittany smiles.  "Just Catlin, being the Alpha male, as usual, trying to protect his precious Sue Ellen."

"Y'know, Brittany, I'm getting a little sick and tired of finding one of the Ewings in my apartment causing a scene every time I turn around," Brad says.  "Now I know I said that we would fight the Ewings together, but I don't want or need all this EWING traffic in and out of here and all this Ewing drama."

"Don't worry,"  Brittany says.  "I'm about to Catlin and Sue Ellen with something that will absolutely blow them away.  But I'm going to need your help to do, because it's gonna take some money.  And some influence."

Brad looks at her, curious as to what Brittany has up her sleeve.

Outside of a building in downtown Dallas....

As Afton and Pamela exit the office building where her OBGYN is located in downtown Dallas, Bum is sitting in a car across the street watching the women.  He picks up his cell phone and dials John Ross's number.  On the second ring, John Ross answers.

"John Ross,"  Bum says.  "Pamela and Afton just left Dr. Sarah Miller's office."

"Good.  You know what to do next," John Ross says, then ends the call. After a moment, he looks down at his phone in his hand and dials another number.

Meanwhile....

Jill's cell phone rings.  She takes the phone from her purse, looks at it, and answers.  "John Ross, what do you want?"  She asks.

"Jill, I need a tiny favor," John Ross replies.

"Look, I was just on my way out to see Justin," Jill says.

"Don't worry, darlin',"  John Ross says. "This is a small favor and itn't gonna take much of your time at all."

Tripp and Pamela's apartment....late afternoon

Tripp is sitting on the sofa in his and Pamela's living room drinking a soda and watching a football game on TV.  He looks at his watch.  Almost 2:30, and Pamela still isn't home.  Where could she be?  He wonders to himself.  He is distracted when his cell phone rings.  He picks the phone up from the coffee table in front of him and answers.  "Hello?  Oh, Jill.  Yeah, I'm happy to hear from you.  How are you?  Business?  Jill, it's New Year's weekend.  Can't this wait until next week and you come by the office on Monday?  Okay, fine, we'll meet. \Twenty minutes.  Where?  Okay, I'll be there.  Bye."  Just as Tripp puts down his phone, just as Pamela and Afton walk in.  He quickly stands to his feet.  "Pamela, WHERE have you been?  I came home, Aunt Tracey was here with the baby, and she didn't even know where you were."

"I had some errands to run,"  Pamela says.

"Some errands?  Well, how about letting someone know where you'd be?  What if something happened to the baby and Aunt Tracey couldn't reach you?"

"Tracey could have reached YOU, Tripp,"  Afton says.

"Is Hunter alright?"  Pamela asks.

"He's fine,"  Tripp snaps.

"Tripp, we need to talk."

"I can't right now, I have to go out for a while."

"Out?  Out where?"  Pamela asks.

"Something has come up.  I have a business meeting."

"Business?  Today?"

"Yes,"  Tripp replies as he starts to leave.

"Tripp, please, we need to talk."

Tripp stops and looks at her.  "Pamela, I've been trying for WEEKS to talk to you, and you kept pushing me away.  Whatever it is, can wait," he says, then quickly leaves.

Pamela sighs deeply.  Afton puts her arm around her daughter.

Justin and Amanda's home....

Justin is sitting in his wheelchair in his and Amanda's living room that afternoon, when Amanda walks in.

"Justin, I have to go into town for a while to run some errands,"  Amanda says.  "Would you like to come with me?"

"No, thank you, I wouldn't."

"Okay.  Well, I just talked to Jeremy on the phone.  He's in Braddock right now picking up some feed and fertilizer, but he should be back soon.  I asked him to check in on you as soon as he gets back.  I wish your Mom hadn't had to rush back to Florida."

"Amanda, I'll be fine.  Just go,"  Justin says.

"I wish you'd change your mind about going to Lucas's wedding tomorrow,"  Amanda says.  "Lucas is your cousin.  He'd want you there."

"Sorry, but I'm just not in the mood for a wedding."

Amanda looks at him for a moment.  "Justin, y'know, it might help if you got out of this house and spent some time with the family."

"Not only am I not in the mood to go to my cousin's wedding, but I'm also not in the mood to be around a bunch of people right now lookin' at me, feelin' sorry for the cripple."

"Justin, you're the only one who feels that way.  No one else sees you as a cripple."

"Amanda, I see the way they look at me when they come over.  And when we were at Southfork at Christmas.  I don't wanna talk about this anymore.  Just go do your errands or whatever, I'm just gonna sit here and watch this old Cary Grant movie that's about to come on TV."

Amanda walks over to him.  "I'll be back in a little while.  Shouldn't be more than an hour and a half."  She leans down and kisses him, then quickly leaves.  As she walks out of the house and makes her way out to her car, Jill's car pulls into the driveway and comes to a stop beside Amanda's car.

"Hi,"  Jill says, getting out of the car.

"Hi, Jill."

"You headed out?"

"Yeah. I have to run some errands in Dallas."

Jill looks at her suspiciously for a moment.  "Really?  Planning on seeing anyone while you're there?"

"Of course not,"  Amanda replies.  "Who would I be seeing?  And why would you ask me that?"

"Never mind,"  Jill says.  "Is my brother in the house."

"Of course.  He's in the living room.  I'm actually glad you're here.  I hate leaving Justin alone.  You can go right in."

"Thanks,"  Jill says.

Amanda gets into her car.  Jill watches as she backs out of the driveway and leaves.

Meanwhile, in the house, Justin sits by the living room window.  He hears Amanda's car start. He looks out the window and sees his wife's car drive away, unaware that Jill is outside.  Once he knows Amanda is gone, Justin places his feet on the floor, then puts his hands on each arm rest of his wheelchair and lifts himself slowly up.  With a slight effort, he stands on his own two feet.  Being extremely careful, he takes one step, then another.  As Justin stands in the middle of the living room, he is startled when the front door opens and Jill walks in.  Jill stops in the doorway, her mouth falling open in shock at the sight of her brother standing on his own two feet!

"Justin?"  She gasps.  "Oh my God, you can walk?"

Justin stands there looking at his sister, unsure of how he would explain his sudden and miraculous recovery from paralysis!

A street in Dallas....

Tripp's pickup comes to a stop on a street in Dallas.  Tripp gets out of the truck and looks around.  After a few seconds, John Ross's car pulls up and comes to a stop several feet

behind Tripp's pickup. Tripp watches with curiosity as John Ross gets out of his car and walks over to him.

"Well, McKay,"  John Ross says.  "Been quite some time.  Nice day, itn't it?  Feels so good out here you'd never know it was winter time."

"What the hell is this?"  Tripp asks.  "I was supposed to be meeting Jill."

"Oh, I know,"  says John Ross.  "But, unfortunately, my little sister had somethin' come up, so, I'm here instead."

"What is this, John Ross, some kinda set up or somethin'?"  Tripp asks.

"Still as paranoid as ever, I see," John Ross says.

"What do you WANT, John Ross?"  Tripp asks, becoming angry.

"McKay, as you know, Ewing Oil and Westar now are co-owners in a field out in California that both our comp'nies bought from ColbyCo Oil.  I'd like to make a fair and reasonable offer to buy Westar's half of those wells."

Tripp smiles as he looks at John Ross.  "I wondered how long it was gonna take you to make an offer to buy those wells.  I'm surprised it took ya this long.  No, in fact, knowing you as well as I do, I'm surprised that you came to me with this offer yourself, instead finding a third party to make the offer and buy the wells from me, then turn around and sell them to you."

"Well, now, that idea DID cross my mind,"  John Ross says.  "But you're a smart guy, Tripp, and I figured you'd see through that in a heartbeat.  So how about it, McKay?  Ewing Oil is willin' to pay top dollar for those wells."

"No deal, John Ross.  That's one of the richest fields in California, and Westar is gonna make a lot of money off those wells in the long run.  So why would I even consider selling, especially to you?"

"McKay, think about it.  You don't wanna be our partner in those wells anymore'n we wanna be yours.  So just sell Ewing Oil your half of the wells and be done with it. Other-wise, this could be a very long and difficult partnership between our two comp'nies."

"John Ross, you can take your offer and go straight to hell,"  Tripp says.  "I have no intention of selling those wells to you.  So you and Bobby and Christopher and Sue Ellen may as well just get use to having me as a partner in those wells, because Westar and Ewing Oil are gonna be in bed together for a long time to come.  Unless, of course, you wanna sell YOUR half of those wells to Westar."

John Ross looks at Tripp, but remains silent.

"Yeah, I didn't think so,"  Tripp says. "Goodbye, John Ross.  Or should I say......partner."  Tripp gives John Ross a cocky smile, then walks back to his truck.

John Ross watches as Tripp gets into his truck and drives away.  "Well, McKay," John Ross says after Tripp is gone.  "I tried bein' nice about this.  Even tried offerin' you a way out.  Too bad you're too damned stubborn to take it.  So now we're gonna have to do things the hard way."

Justin and Amanda's home....

Jill pours two cups of coffee and hands one cup to Justin.  Then she takes a seat across from him. "Okay, Justin, I'm waiting for an explanation.  Have you been faking your paralysis all this time?"

"No, of course not,"  Justin replies.

"Then how long has this been going on?  How long have you been able to walk?  And why haven't you told anyone?"

"It started a couple days before Christmas Eve,"  Justin explains. "At first, it was just little twinges as some of the feelin' started comin' back into my feet and then my legs.  Then, I started bein' able to actually move my toes first, and then my whole foot. Finally, I could move both my legs.  Late at night I'd do these exercises to try and strengthen my legs.  I was so excited Jill, but I didn't wanna say anything to Amanda or my Mama because I didn't wanna get their hopes up.  Then, I decided that I was gonna tell 'em on Christmas Eve after we got back home from Southfork."

"So what changed your mind?"  Jill asks.

"Jimmy and Amanda."

"What do you mean?  Justin, has your memory started to come back, too?"

"Not exactly.  On Christmas Eve, I watched my wife, and I watched Jimmy.  All durin' dinner I saw the way they looked at each other.  It was weird.  Like they were real awkward bein' in the same room.  Then I thought back, and, they've acted that same way for months now, ever since my accident.  This week, I've really been wrackin' my damned brain tryin' to remember what happened the day I fell, and, then just a couple nights ago, I had a dream.  It's real vague in my mind right now, but, Jill, I think it was more'n a dream.  I think it was a memory."

"A memory of the accident?"  Jill asks.

"Yeah.  In this dream, Jimmy and me were fightin'.  I don't remember the details, but I've had this naggin' feelin' that we were fightin' because of Amanda.  Jill, Jimmy is my best friend, and all these months since my accident on that cliff......all the time I was in the hospital, and since I been home, I can count on one and a half hands how many times Jimmy has come to see me.  I always thought that was strange.  I figured, close as me and him are, that he'd be here every day.  And Amanda's acted real funny, too."

"Justin....."

"Jill, I........."  Justin pauses a moment as he fights back tears.  "I think somethin' has been goin' on between Jimmy and Amanda.  And even before my accident.  If I could just remember what happened that day.  That's why I've kept my bein' able to walk a secret.  If they still think I'm just a pitiful cripple, maybe I can find out.  Maybe I can catch them."

Jill begins to cry, then stands and walks across the room, her back to her brother.

"Jill?  Jill, what is it?"  Justin asks, standing to his feet, holding on to the table to steady himself.

Jill turns back to her brother.  "Justin, I'm so sorry."

"Sorry about what?  Jill, do you KNOW somethin'?"  He asks, slowly walking over to her with great effort.  "Do you know what's been goin' on between Jimmy and Amanda?"

"Justin, I don't wanna hurt you,"  Jill says.

"The only way you're gonna hurt me  is if you don't tell me the damned truth.  Jill.......has my wife been havin' an affair with Jimmy?"

"It wasn't an affair, exactly."

"Exactly?"  Justin asks.  "It wuttin' an affair, but they DID sleep together, didn't they?"

"Yes,"  Jill replies in tears.

"YOU KNEW ABOUT THIS AND YOUR DIDN'T TELL ME??!!"  Justin yells.  "HOW LONG HAVE YOU KNOWN?"

"A few weeks.  Justin, I didn't wanna hurt you.  I didn't wanna add to the pain you were already in."

"Then I was right,"  Justin says, crying.  "I was RIGHT!  My wife and my so called best friend were sleepin' together behind my back.  This makes me wonder.  This REALLY makes me wonder."

"Wonder what, Justin?"  Jill asks.

"Makes me wonder if Jimmy is the reason for my accident and paralysis.  Dear God, Jill, is it possible?  Could my best friend, my own NEPHEW, have tried to kill me?  What if they planned the whole thing.  Jimmy would get me up to the Smithfield cabin so he could get rid of me and they could be together."

"Justin, that's not how it happened,"  says Jill.  "Jimmy told me after I confronted him.  You were the one who lured HIM to Jay's family's cabin.  Justin, you tried to kill Jimmy, and you fell and he saved your life."

"He told you that?  Of course he did.  I couldn't remember a damned thing.  What was he supposed to tell you, Jill?  Oh, yes, I lured Justin up to that cabin so I could get rid of him and have his wife?  That's not how I remember it."

"Justin, what are you gonna do?"  Jill asks.

Justin grabs her by the arm.  "Jill, you're my sister, and you knew about all of this and never said a word to me.  How could you do that to me?"

"Justin, I didn't wanna hurt you anymore,"  Jill cries.  "I'm so sorry, Justin.  Please forgive me, I should've told you when I first found out."

"You wanna make this up to me?  Then keep this between us.  Don't say a word about me knowin' about this, or about me bein' able to walk."

"What are you gonna do?"

"I'm gonna trap them.  I'm gonna keep right on playin' the angry, pitiful cripple, and then.... ......then, Jill, I'm gonna make Jimmy pay for what he did to me.  For havin' sex with my wife. For causin' my accident, and for all these months I've been sittin' in that damned wheelchair, HELPLESS!  And when I'm done with our nephew........then Amanda's gonna pay. When I'm done with her, she'll be on the street sellin' that body of hers like the whore that she is."

Jill puts her hand on her brother's shoulder.  "Justin, whatever you're planning, I'll help. You're my brother, and I want them to pay for what they did to you, too."

Justin looks at her and nods.

Sue Ellen's home.....early evening

As C.J. paces around the living room of Sue Ellen's home, Sue Ellen is talking on her cell phone.  "Yes, Bobby, we're very worried," she says.  "Blaine and Sandy have been out looking for Catlin all day.  Thank you.  If he happens to contact you, which I know isn't very likely, but if he does, please give me a call right away.  Alright, yes."  As Sue Ellen continues her conversation, Catlin walks into the house.

"Dad,"  C.J. says, rushing into the foyer to meet his father.

"Bobby, I have to go,"  Sue Ellen tells Bobby on the phone.  "Catlin just walked in.  Bye."  She ends the call and puts her phone down, then walks into the foyer.  "Catlin, thank God you're alright," she says.  "We've been worried sick ever since you left."

"Yeah, Aunt Blaine and Uncle Sandy have been out looking for you all day," says C.J.  "We've been calling your cell phone for hours."

"I'm sorry,"  Catlin says.  "I didn't mean to worry or upset anyone.  I've been out driving around all day.  After I saw Brittany, I was so damned angry, I didn't wanna be around anyone."

"Dad, Sue Ellen told me what happened,"  C.J. says.  "That Mom is counter suing you for divorce on ground of adultery and mental cruelty."

"Catlin, what happened when you went to see Brittany?"  Sue Ellen asks.

"She was so........so hateful.  That woman is actually planning on dragging us ALL through the mud.  Sue Ellen, she's even had your past investigated, and she's gonna use all that dirty laundry to make this divorce as ugly as possible."

"We knew that she would,"  says Sue Ellen.

"I'm not gonna put you through that.  The best thing that I can do for you is to just pack up, move out of here and get out of your life."

"You will do NOTHING of the sort.  Catlin Ewing, I LOVE you.  I've faced scandal before.  I've even faced bitter, vindictive women before and I'm ready for whatever Brittany has to throw at us."

"Look, what if I talk to her?"  C.J. asks.  "I'm her son, she'll listen to me."

"It's not gonna do any good, son"  Catlin replies.   "Your mother is not the same woman anymore. And now she's living with that guy Brad Stone, Cliff Barnes's son."

Sue Ellen sighs.  "And of course, both of them are out for blood when it comes to the Ewings, especially Brad Stone and that vindictive troll of a father of his."

"Sue Ellen, I'm sorry that I brought all of this drama and chaos into your life,"  Catlin says.

"You didn't, Catlin.  Brittany is the one causing drama and chaos.  And somehow, that woman has to be stopped."

Tripp and Pamela's apartment....that night

"Oh, Pamela, my grandson gets more beautiful every time I see him,"  Sharon Smith says as she puts baby Hunter down in his crib.  "He is absolutely precious."

"Yes he is,"  Pamela agrees.  "Well, let's let him sleep.  Dinner should be ready."

"Thank you for havin' me and Shawn over for dinner on such short notice,"  Sharon says as she and Pamela leave the baby's room.

"It's no problem,"  Pamela says, lying, as she is actually disappointed at the intrusion of Tripp's mother and brother tonight because she had planned to tell Tripp about her pregnancy.

As the women return to the living room, Pamela goes into the kitchen to check on dinner, while Tripp and Shawn are playing a video game, which Tripp ends up winning.

"There,"  Tripp says with a smile.  "I thought you said you were good at this game."

"Well, I guess you're just better, bro," Shawn says.

"It's called experience."

"It does my heart so good to see my two boys getting along so well, playing video games,"  Sharon says.

"I'm actually glad you two came over tonight,"  Tripp says.  "I think Pamela and I both needed the distraction."

"Well, I hadn't planned on visiting but it was Shawn's idea to drop in on you and Pamela tonight,"  says Sharon.

Tripp looks at his brother.  "Really?"

"Yeah,"  replies Shawn.  "It's Friday night, I had no plans, so I thought it'd be cool to come hang out with my big brother."

"Well, that's a real switch,"  Tripp says.  "Last time I wanted to hang out with you, you didn't want to."

"Yeah, I know.  Tripp, I know I was a real pain.  But, after some thinking, I realize that it'll be pretty cool having a big brother.  Someone I can look up to, come to for advice, stuff like that.  Play video games with."

Tripp looks at the boy and smiles.  "I'm glad you feel that way, Shawn.  Because I could get use to having a kid brother, too.  I only wish that you'd had a chance to meet Hunter.  He was a big gamer, too, and you guys would've gotten along just great."  At that moment, the baby begins to cry.  Tripp gets up from his seat on the sofa.  "I'd better see what's wrong with him."

"No, I'll see about my grandson,"  Sharon says.  "You just have a seat and continue bonding with your brother.  I'll take care of Hunter."  Sharon walks down the short hallway to the baby's room.

"He sure is a cute baby," Shawn says.

"Thank you.  Pamela and I think so, too."

Shawn looks at his brother a moment.  "So, I guess since Hunter is gonna be a year old in a few months, you and Pamela are gonna be thinkin' about having another baby soon, huh?"

"What gave you that idea?"  Tripp asks.

"Oh, I was just wondering," Shawn says.  "I mean, don't you want another kid as cute as that one?"

"Yeah, we do, but, not anytime soon," Tripp replies.  "This has been a really rough year for Pamela and I, and now that I'm CEO of Westar, I wanna wait a while before we have another baby."

"How long?"  Shawn asks.

"I dunno.  Maybe when Hunter is two or three, Pamela and I will think about having another baby. But right now, that is DEFINITELY not in the cards."

Shawn looks at his brother and nods his head, confident that he's just found out from Tripp what John Ross wanted to know.

Southfork....

John Ross and Krystina walk into their bedroom from the bathroom after taking a shower that night.

"So where do you wanna go to dinner?"  Krystina asks as she begins to dry her hair with a towel.

"Duttin' matter to me.  Of course, I AM kinda in the mood for some Japanese tonight."

"Great, then, how does Shogun sound?"  Krystina asks.

"Already got my mouth waterin'," John Ross says as his cell phone vibrates on a table across the room.  "And I already know what I'm gonna order when we get there."  He walks over

and picks up his phone. Looking at it, reads a text from Shawn:  My mom and I are at Tripp & Pamela's for dinner. Tripp definitely has no idea she's pregnant.

John Ross smiles upon reading the text.

"John Ross?"  Krystina says.  "What are you smiling about?"

"Oh, just some news I been waitin' on," John Ross says.

"Must be good news."

"REAL good news, darlin'.  Krystina, I need to make a phone call real fast."

"I guess that's my cue to make myself scarce.  I'll  go blow dry my hair in the bathroom."

"Thank ya, darlin',"  John Ross says.  "This won't take long."  After Krystina goes into the bathroom, John Ross dials a number on his phone and waits for an answer. After the second ring, Bum picks up.  "Bum, just got word that Tripp McKay has no idea his little wife is knocked up.  You get that little job done I asked ya to?"

Meanwhile....

"All done, John Ross,"  Bum replies.  "Got a copy of Pamela's medical records in my hand right now.  I really didn't like doin' this one. Anyone finds out about this, even my son, I could lose my Private Eye license."

Southfork....

"Well, you and I are the only ones who know about this,"  John Ross says.  "And since I'm not gonna tell anybody, and I know YOU'RE not gonna tell anybody, there's nothin' for you to worry about.  Now, you know what to do with that information.  Text me when you're done. DON'T call.  Krystina and I are goin' out for dinner.  Talk to ya soon, Bum."  John Ross puts down his phone and smiles.

A short time later....

Sitting in his truck, Bum uses a portable scanner to scan the medical records he obtained from breaking into Dr. Miller's office earlier into his laptop.  Once all the documents have been scanned, he saves the records into a zip file on the computer, then pulls up Tripp McKay's email, which had John Ross had given to him after getting the email address from Shawn.  Bum uploads the file to a message, which he then sends to Tripp's email.  After the file containing the medical records with proof of Pamela's pregnancy is sent, Bum closes the lid on his laptop, puts in carefully into the passenger seat of his truck, and picks up his cell phone.  He sends John Ross the text 'Mission accomplished', then drives away into the night.

Tripp and Pamela's apartment....later

Tripp walks his mother and brother to the door as they are leaving later that night.  "Pamela, thank you so much for a wonderful dinner,"  Sharon says.

"You're more than welcome,"  Pamela says, a tone of insincerity in her voice.

"Thanks for coming over,"  Tripp.

"You're welcome, sweetheart,"  Sharon says, hugging her son.  "Goodnight."

"Night.  And YOU,"  Tripp says to Shawn.  "I expect a rematch on that game."

"Anytime,"  Shawn says as he and Sharon leave.

"Bye," Tripp says, closing the door behind them.  He turns to Pamela.  "That was a nice surprise."

"And an unexpected one."

"You could've acted a little happier to see them.  Or at least a little less pissed off that my mother and kid brother were here.  What the hell's your problem, anyway?"

"I don't have a problem,"  Pamela says.

"You sure could've fooled me.  All evening you barely said a word, and you acted like you were royally pissed off to have my Mom and my brother here, but I've never said one word when your parents come barging over here all the time."

"Tonight, I JUST wanted some time with my husband.  I thought maybe we could talk."

"Okay, I'm listening,"  Tripp says.  "So talk.  What's so important that you've wanted to talk about all day today, when you haven't shown the slightest bit of interest in talking to me at all for months now?"

Pamela looks at her husband for a moment, hurt by his attitude.  "Look, I'm really tired and not feeling well, and I'm in no mood to fight with you anymore.  I'm going to check on the baby, and then go to bed.  Goodnight."

"Fine,"  Tripp says angrily.

Pamela walks past him and down the hall to the baby's room.  An angry Tripp shakes his head, frustrated with his wife and the state of his marriage.

Twenty minutes later....

After rinsing the dinner dishes and placing then in the dishwasher, Tripp walks into the living room and takes a seat at the desk.  He switches on his laptop and goes to a page about Westar, where he checks the companies earnings and profits.  As he closes the Westar page,

notices that he has several new email messages in his personal account.  Opening his email, he scans through the 6 new messages, one of which contains a file.  Thinking that particular email could be important and about Westar business, Tripp opens the message, with a short sentence that reads 'You will find this file to be very interesting.'  Curious, Tripp clicks to open the file folder.  He is stunned by what comes up on his screen.  Instead of Westar

business, Tripp was looking at his wife's medical records from the office of Dr. Sarah Miller, an OBGYN in Dallas.  Tripp begins to read over the records, thinking they are from Pamela's pregnancy with Hunter, but, upon closer examination, Tripp sees the date of Pamela's last appointment with Dr. Miller----------Friday, December 30, 2016--------that VERY day.  Tripp reads on, his expression conveying more and more shock as he reads the word PREGNANT on Pamela's file.  "Between 14 and 16 weeks?"  He asks himself quietly.  "But how?  Pamela and I haven't made love in months.  Not since before she gave birth to Hunter.  Oh my God."

A moment later, Tripp opens the door and walks into his and Pamela's bedroom, his face wet from tears.  He intended to confront Pamela about her pregnancy, but finds that his wife is already sound asleep.  Tripp looks at her for a moment.  Pregnant.  Pamela is expecting another child, and this one isn't his.  Could she have cheated on him?  For months, Pamela had been pushing him away, not even letting him touch her, yet someone HAD touched her and more.  Unable to stay in the room any longer, Tripp turns and walks out.

The Krebbs Ranch....the next morning

Dylan comes down the stairs at the Krebbs home the next morning and finds Conner talking on the phone to Selena Collier.

"I can't wait for the Oil Baron's Ball tonight,"  Conner says over the phone as Dylan listens.  "Yeah, well, it was pretty awesome that Bobby got tickets for the whole family.  You're still gonna be my date for the wedding, right?"  Conner laughs.  "Well, the wedding is in like THREE hours, so you'd better hurry and start gettin' ready.  I'll pick you up in a little while.

Yeah, I can't wait to see you, too.  I'm sure gonna hate it when you have to go back home with your great-great-grandmother next week.  I know, but I'm still gonna miss you."

Unable to listen to anymore of his brother's conversation, Dylan walks past Conner, through

the dining room and into the kitchen, where Donna is pouring herself a glass of orange juice.

"Good morning," she says.

"Morning,"  Dylan replies with a sigh.  "Where's Ray?"

"He went over to Southfork early to see if he could be of any help in getting ready for the wedding.  Are you alright?  You seem a little down this morning."

"I'm okay,"  Dylan says as Conner walks in.

"Morning," Conner says.

"Good morning.  Are you picking Selena up for the wedding, or is she going to be coming with Catlin and Sue Ellen?"  Donna asks.

"I'm gonna pick her up,"  Conner replies with a smile as he pours himself a glass of orange juice.  "I'm looking forward to seeing her."

"Yeah, it's not like you didn't see her just a few hours ago when you took her home from your date at the movies,"  Dylan says.

Conner looks at his brother.  "Dude, what is up with you lately?"

"Nothing.  Why?"

"For several days now you've had this attitude."

"Donna, I'm not hungry this morning," Dylan says, ignoring his brother's statement.  "And since it's Saturday, New Year's Eve, and only 8 o'clock, I think I'm gonna go back to bed for a while,"  Dylan says as he starts to leave the room.

"Well, don't go back to sleep,"  Donna says.  "We're due to be over at Southfork by 10:30 for the wedding."

"Yeah, uh, I think I'm just gonna skip the wedding,"  says Dylan.  "It's not like I'm that close to Lucas and I barely know his fiance, so, I won't even be missed."  Dylan quickly walks out of the kitchen.

"WHAT has been wrong with him lately?"  Conner asks Donna after his brother leaves the room.  "He's been impossible for the last several days.  It's like his meds aren't working anymore."

"Or maybe.........he's just a little bit jealous,"  says Donna.

"Jealous?  Of what?"

"Well, Conner, for the last several months since you and Dylan have lived here, you've spent a lot of your time together.  You work the ranch together, play video games together at night, you've gone to the movies together.  But, just lately, you've been spending pretty much all of your time with Selena Collier.  You've taken her to the movies twice this week, and out to dinner every night."

"Yeah, but, Donna, that's life.  Dylan's an adult.  We're brothers, we're not siamese twins.  I can't spend every single minute with him."

"You really like Selena, huh?"  Donna asks.

"I sure do.  Donna, it had been a long time since I'd even been on a date.  Long time since I felt about anybody the way I feel about Selena."

Donna smiles.  "Well, I'm happy for you.  But, what's gonna happen when she has to go home after the new year?"

"We're gonna stay in touch.  We can text, talk on the phone every day, skype, snapchat.  And we're gonna try to see each other as often as we can."  Conner sighs.  "You really think Dylan's jealous of me and Selena?"

"I do.  Conner, I do realize that you can't spend all of your time with your brother.  You're a young adult and you're gonna wanna have your own interests.  But try to be patient with Dylan.  Remember he's had a really rough time."

Conner nods.  "You're right.  I guess I have been kind of insensitive to him lately.  Okay, Selena and her great-grandmother are gonna be leaving in a couple of days, and I will spend a lot of time with  Dylan this next week.  Make it up to him."

"Good.  I think it also might help if you talked to him about maybe getting out of the house more.  Making some friends outside of the family."

"I will,"  Conner says, taking a sip of his orange juice.

Tripp and Pamela's apartment....

As Pamela puts baby Hunter back in his crib that morning, she hears the door of the apartment open and close.  "Tripp?"  She says.  She hurries from the nursery and into the living room, where she finds her husband pouring himself a drink.  "Tripp, where did you go so early?"

"Early?"  Tripp asks, taking a sip of his drink.

"I woke up a half hour ago and fed Hunter.  You were gone.  Did you go out for a run?"

"No, I didn't,"  Tripp replies calmly.  "I left last night."

"You........you were out all night?"  Pamela asks.

"Yes I was."

"Why?  Where did you go?"

"First I went to a bar.  I had two drinks, and just sat there at the bar, thinking.  Doing a LOT of thinking.  Then when the bar closed, I went to the park.  I just sat there in my truck for a long time, doing some more thinking.  Then for the rest of the night, I just drove around."

"Tripp, why?"  Pamela asks.  "What's wrong with you?"

"What's wrong with ME?"  Tripp asks.  "Maybe what's wrong with me is the fact that my wife has been lying to me for MONTHS!"

"What are you talking about?"

"Just when were you gonna tell me that you're pregnant, Pamela?"  Tripp asks, walking closer to her.  "Or were gonna wait and let me find out when you went into labor?"

Pamela's heart sinks.  "You.....you know?"  She asks in tears.  "How did you find out?"

"How I found out isn't important,"  Tripp says.  "What IS important is how I DIDN'T find out, which is from YOU, Pamela!  My wife is pregnant and she hid that from me for weeks.  Months.  No wonder you wouldn't let me touch you.  It's because you didn't want me to see and feel that baby growing inside of you!"

"Tripp, please, let me explain.  It's not what you think."

"Not what I think?  I'm not the brightest guy in the world, Pamela, but I do know one thing.  I know there's no way in HELL that baby could be mine.  You and I haven't had sex in months.  Not since right before Hunter was born.  So there's only conclusion, and since I don't think your baby was the product of immaculate conception, the only logical conclusion is that you had sex with another man!  Who is he, Pamela?  Who is the father of that baby you're carrying?"

"NO!"  Pamela yells.  "God, that is NOT WHAT HAPPENED!  Tripp, I did NOT cheat on you.  I would NEVER cheat on you!  Tripp........I was raped."

"You were..........you were RAPED?"

"Yes,"  Pamela cries.

"Oh my God,"  Tripp says.  "Van Buren?  Scott Van Buren........he......he raped you and he's the father of your baby?"

"Yes.  Tripp.......I'm so sorry."

"Why the hell didn't you tell me this?  All this time and you never said one word.  Not even to the cops?"

"I was so ashamed.  I felt so dirty, I just didn't wanna face how knowing what he did would hurt you.  That's why I couldn't make love to you.  Every time we tried, every time we started, I had flashbacks of Scott raping me.  And I was ashamed and afraid to tell you."

"When you found out you were pregnant, didn't you think THAT would've been a good time to let me in on this?"  Tripp asks.

"I couldn't.  Tripp, I'm so sorry."

"Okay, okay.  So......you're pregnant by the monster who raped you.  Pamela, first thing next week, we'll call a clinic and have this taken care of."

"What do you mean?"  Pamela asks.

"I mean you have to have an abortion."

"Tripp.....no, I can't."

"What do you mean, you can't?  Pamela, this baby was conceived in rape by the madman who kidnapped you and your mother and tried to kill me.  You can't keep this baby."

"Tripp, I can't,"  Pamela says in tears.  "We can give the baby up for adoption after it's born, but I cannot kill this child."

"You can really go through with this pregnancy?  Carrying the bastard child of a man like Scott Van Buren?"

"Scott was a monster, and I hate him.  But this baby is innocent. This baby did NOTHING.  I already told my Mom......"

"Your Mom?"  Tripp interrupts.  "Afton knows about this?  You could tell your mother but not your own husband that you were raped and pregnant?  Oh, this is just great.  This gets better and better all the time.  I don't know why I'm even here. Obviously you don't need me for anything."

"That's not true,"  Pamela cries.

"Isn't it?  You don't need me for sex because you never let me come near you since you were raped.  You don't need me to confide in because you shut me out and tell everything to Afton.  And you sure as hell don't need me as a provider because you're rich in your own right.  So what the hell do you need me for?"

"I need you to be understanding, and supportive!"

"And that's EXACTLY what I would've been, but you obviously didn't trust me enough or have faith in me enough to tell me about the rape, or even the pregnancy.  I look at you, Pamela and I don't even know who you are anymore. And I can't be here right now."  He turns and starts to leave.

"Tripp, where are you going?"  Pamela asks in tears.

He stops at the door and turns back to her.  "I really don't know where I'm going, Pamela. Anywhere but here."

Tripp walks out of the apartment, leaving Pamela alone in their living room, both devastated and stunned at what had just taken place.

Southfork....later

By shortly after 10 a.m. that Saturday morning, various Ewing family members were already present or arriving at Southfork for the wedding of Lucas Wade Ewing and Heather Lynn McCabe. Upstairs in Bobby and Ann's bedroom, a nervous Heather is getting ready for the wedding, with the help of Ann, Jenna, Lucy, Krystina, and Courtney.  The women are running slightly behind schedule, and Heather is frantically trying to get her hair done.

"Heather, calm down, you're gonna be ready on time,"  Courtney says.

Her hair in curlers, Heather turns and looks at the other women.  "Is my nervousness showin' that much?"

"I hate to tell you, sweety, but yes it is,"  Ann replies.

"Listen, I wanna thank all of you for your help this mornin'.  Especially you, Ann and Lucy, for all your help in puttin' this weddin' together for me in only a week."

Heather's mention of Ann causes the smile to disappear from Jenna's face and be replaced by an expression of disgust.

Ann smile.  "Heather, it's been our pleasure to help you, and to welcome you to our family."

"And I must say that I'm very pleased to have you as my daughter-in-law,"  says Jenna.  "You're a very big improvement over my son's previous choice of Emma Ryland."

An uncomfortable silence follows Jenna's shot at Emma, as Ann gives her an angry look.

"Ummm, so, Heather,"  Courtney says, breaking the awkward silence.  "Have you got your customary something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue yet?"

"Well, my dress is gonna new,"  replies Heather.  "Now I need somethin' old, borrowed, and blue."

"I have the perfect something borrowed,"  Courtney says.  She opens her purse and takes out a box.  "My Mom gave these earrings to me for Christmas three years ago.  I'd love for you to wear them today."

"Oh, Courtney, thank you,"  Heather says.

"And I have the something blue AND old,"  Lucy says, taking a garter from her purse.  "I wore this blue garter at my first wedding to Mitch almost 36 years ago.  Sue Ellen gave it to me.  And now, I pass it on to you."

"Thanks, Lucy."

"And I would also like to add something old,"  Jenna says.  She hands Heather a hankerchief. "This is very old.  It belonged to my mother.  Lucas's grandmother.  It's one of the few things I still have that belonged to her.  There were two of these, a matching set.  I gave one to Charlie on the day she married Phillip Walton.  And now I want you to have this one.  And one day, I'd like for you to pass this on to Michael's bride, unless of course you have a daughter, in which case, she should get it."

"Jenna, thank you, this means so much,"  Heather says.

"Listen, we'd better get a move on if we're gonna have you ready to marry that handsome stepson of mine in less than an hour,"  Ann says.

"And if you ladies don't need me anymore, I think I'll go downstairs and have a word with my son," says Jenna.

"Oh, I think we can manage just fine without you,"  Ann says.

Jenna gives her an angry look, then walks out of the room.

Downstairs....

Meanwhile, downstairs in Christopher's room, Christopher is helping his brother get dressed.  After tying his tie, Lucas turns to Christopher.  "Well?  Is it straight?"

"No.  Here, let me fix this."  Christopher proceeds to tie his brother's tie the correct way.

"I never could get the hang of these things."

"Well, little bro, you'd better get use to it if you're ever gonna be a business man."

"You're a Ewing,"  Christopher says.  "Business is in your blood.  Besides, I'm busy with Ewing Oil these days, and Bobby and I are about to launch the Dallas branch of Ewing records sometime near the end of January, and I'm gonna need you to take care of that for me."

"I'll do my best,"  says Lucas.

"There,"  Christopher says.  "Tie's perfect."

Lucas looks in the mirror, smiles, then turns back to Christopher.  "Thanks.  Well, I think I'm gonna go and see how my little boy's doin'."

"I'll come with you,"  Christopher says, and the two brothers leave the bedroom.

A moment later, Lucas walks into the breakfast room, where he finds Jenna and Harris chatting with Charlie, Alex, and Michael.  Lucas walks over to his family.  "Mom," he says.

Jenna turns to her son and smiles.  "Oh, Lucas, you look so handsome,"  Jenna says, hugging him.

"Thanks, Mom."

"Yes, you sure do,"  says Charlie.  "I can hardly believe it.  My little brother, getting married.  My little brother......a FATHER.  Lucas, do you know how old this makes me feel?  I still remember the day Ray and I brought you and Mom home from the hospital right after you were born.  You were such a tiny little baby."

"It's hard for me to imagine that Uncle Lucas was ever a baby,"  Alex says.

"Well, he WAS,"  Jenna says.  "Your uncle was a very beautiful baby, just as you were, Alex."

"And, looking at you now as a smart mouth teenager, it's hard for me to remember that you were ever a cute, innocent little baby,"  Lucas says.

"Haha, very funny,"  says Alex.

"Lucas, I just wanna offer my congratulations,"  Harris says.  "That's a real pretty girl you're marryin' and I wish you both the best."

"Thanks, Harris, I appreciate that,"  Lucas says, shaking Harris's hand.

"Y'all exuse me for a minute,"  Harris says as he sees Ann walk into the room.  He walks over to his ex-wife.  "Well, hello, Annie," he says.

"Harris,"  Ann says, coldly.

"How are ya?"  Harris asks.

"I'm just fine."

"How's Emma?"

"Emma'd doin' well,"  Ann replies.

"I think about Emma all the time," Harris says.  "I sure do miss that girl and I'd love to see her, or at least talk to her. Will you tell her that next for me, next time you talk to her?"

"I'll tell her you asked about her," Ann says.

"Y'know, Annie, I know you still hate me for all the pain I caused you, and you have every right to,"  Harris says.  "But I want you to know that I'm sorry.  I'm sorry for everything I ever did to hurt you.  And I hope that one day we can get past this and you can somehow forgive me."

"Harris, I really would like to be able to forgive you,"  Ann says.  "Not for your sake, but for mine.  But you kept my daughter away from me for years, and you kept the truth about Emma from me.  All just to punish me.  I don't hate you anymore, Harris.  But I'm not sure that I can ever forgive you for the kind of pain you caused me.  Your relationship with Jenna, the mother of Bobby's son, forces us to occasionally have contact with one another.  But I'd really like to keep that contact to a minimum, because every time I see you, I'm reminded of all the years I could've been with my daughter but I was deprived of that chance by you." Ann turns and walks away from him.

Jenna comes over to Harris.  "What was that all about?  Are you alright?"

"I'm fine,"  Harris replies.

"Did she say something to upset you?"

"No, she didn't say anything to upset me.  She didn't say anything I didn't deserve to hear."

As Ann walks into the foyer, she greets Sue Ellen and Catlin as they arrive with his sister Blaine and her husband, Sandy Cory.

"I'm glad you could all make it,"  Ann says.

"Thank you for inviting us,"  Blaine says.

"You're welcome.  You're part of the family now,"  Ann says.  She notices that Sue Ellen seems upset about something.  "Sue Ellen, are you alright?"

"To be honest, Ann, I've been better."

"Hey, Blaine, Sandy, why don't we go and have a drink?"  Catlin suggests.  "Let these two talk for a bit."

"Sounds good to me,"  Sandy says, the three leaving the room.

"Sue Ellen, what's goin' on?"  Ann asks.

"Catlin's soon-to-be ex-wife, again," replies Sue Ellen.  "She's counter suing Catlin for divorce on grounds of mental cruelty, and adultery, and she's naming me as co-respondent."

"You can't be serious,"  says Ann.

"I wish I wasn't."

"What are you gonna do?"

"We're going to fight that woman with everything we have.  If Brittany Ewing wants to get down in the mud and get dirty, I'll be more than happy to accommodate her.

Bobby and Ann's bedroom....a short time later

By shortly before 11 a.m., Heather is beautifully dressed in her wedding gown and looking at herself in the mirror as Courtney, Krystina, Lucy, and Charlie watch.

"Well?  How do I look?"  Heather asks the other women.

"You look absolutely gorgeous,"  replies Krystina.

"Yes you do,"  says Courtney.

"I think you make one of the most beautiful Southfork brides ever," Lucy adds.

"Do y'all really mean that?"  Heather asks, turning to them.  "I mean, you're not just sayin' that to make me feel good?"

Charlie stands and walks over to her. "Heather, believe me, you're gorgeous, and my brother is one lucky man today."

"Lucas is gonna be blown away when he sees you," Courtney says.

"Thank you all so much," Heather says as someone knocks at the door.

Krystina walks over to the door and finds Bobby there with Michael.

Bobby looks at Heather and smiles.  "Are you almost ready?"  He asks.  "Because this young man is real anxious to give his mama away to marry his daddy.  And my son is downstairs and he's kinda anxious to get married."

Heather laughs.  "We're all ready, Bobby," she says.

"Well, I guess that's our cue to take our places,"  Krystina says.

As the other women start to leave, Heather grabs Courtney by the hand. "Courtney, thank you again for agreein' to be my maid of honor today.  It really means a lot to me. I never had a sister, and I hope that you and I can become like sister, ESPECIALLY if you end up marryin' Christopher."

"I feel the same way,"  Courtney says.  "I'm honored that you asked me, and hopefully one day, when and if Christopher and I take this step, you can do the same for me.  Now come on. Let's get you and Lucas married."  Courtney gives the bride a quick hug, then walks out of the room with Bobby, leaving Michael with his mother.

Heather looks down at her son.  "You okay, baby?"

"I'm good, Mom."

"Sweety, you are happy about this, aren't you?  About me and Lucas gettin' married, and changin' our name to Ewing?"

"I think it's great, Mom," the little boy says with a smile.  "We're gonna be a real family."

"Yes we are, baby,"  Heather says.

A few minutes later....

The wedding guests are seated in rows of chairs set up in the den.  Attending the wedding besides Bobby, Ann, Christopher, Jenna, Harris, Alex, Sue Ellen, Catlin, Blaine, and Sandy, are John Ross, Ray, Donna, Conner, Selena Collier, Corrine Hodges, Margaret, and Matt Culver, Jay, Jill, Jimmy, Justin, and Amanda.  Justin and Jill keep a close watch on Jimmy and Amanda as the two exchange awkward looks between them.  A smiling Lucas stands at the front of the room with Bobby at his side.  The wedding march begins to play, and the bridesmaids-------Lucy, Charlie, and Krystina-------and the maid of honor, Courtney, begin their march down the stairs, into the den, and to the front of the room.

As Courtney makes her way into the room and down the isle, Christopher looks at her, absolutely captivated by her beauty, and realizing in that moment that he has never felt the deep feelings for any woman, not even Elena, that he now feels for Courtney Wapner.

And then, the bride comes down the stairs with her little son on her arm, Michael giving his mother away.  The two march into the den and down the isle, all eyes on them.  Standing at

the front of the room is Lucas, smiling ear to ear, with Bobby at his side.  Lucas watches lovingly as his soon to be wife and son march down the isle toward him.  Finally, Heather and Michael reach Lucas and Michael places his mother's hand in his father's.  Lucas smiles at his son with pride.

As the wedding march ends, the minister steps forward and begins:  "Friends, today we come together in this place, in the sight of God on this very special day to celebrate the joining together in Holy matrimony of Lucas Wade Ewing, and Heather Lynn Johnson McCabe. Who gives this bride to be married?"

"I do,"  Michael replies to smiles of pride from Lucas, Heather, Bobby, Ann, and Jenna.

"Lucas and Heather, marriage is the most important of all earthly relationships. It should be entered into reverently, thoughtfully and with full understanding of its sacred nature. Your marriage must stand by the strength of your love and the power of faith in each other and in God. Just as two threads woven in opposite directions form a beautiful tapestry, so to your two lives when merged together will make a beautiful marriage.  As First Corinthians says, Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud. Love is never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand it's own way. Love is not irritable or touchy. Love does not hold grudges and will hardly notice when others do it wrong. Love is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out. If you love someone, you will be loyal to them no matter what the costs. You will always believe in them, always expect the best in them, and will always stand your ground in defending them."  The minister turns to the groom.  "Lucas, do you take Heather to be your lawfully wedded wife? Do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect her, forsaking all others and holding only unto her forevermore?"

"I do,"  Lucas says.

The minister turns to the bride.  "Heather, do you take Lucas to be your lawfully wedded husband? Do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect him, forsaking all others and holding only unto him forevermore?"

"I do,"  Heather replies nervously.

"The ring is a symbol of the unbroken circle of love. Love freely given has no beginning and no end, no giver and no receiver for each is the giver and each is the receiver. May these rings always remind you of the vows you have taken.  Who has the rings?"

Bobby hands Lucas his ring and he places it on Heather's finger.

"Repeat after me," the minister says.  "I, Lucas, take you, Heather, to be my wife.  To have and to hold, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, in joy and sorrow.  I promise my love to you, and with this ring, I take you as my wife for as long as we both shall live."

"I, Lucas, take you, Heather, to be my wife.  To have and to hold, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, in joy and sorrow.  I promise my love to you, and with this ring, I take you as my wife for as long as we both shall live."

Heather lovingly places the ring on Lucas's finger.

"Heather, repeat after me," the minister says.  "I, Heather, take you, Lucas, to be my husband.  To have and to hold, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, in joy and sorrow. I promise my love to you, and with this ring, I take you as my husband for as long as we both shall live."

"Bless their marriage, O God, as they begin their journey down the road of life together. We don't know what lies ahead for the road turns and bends. But help them to make the best of whatever comes their way.  Help them to continue to enjoy each other as they did when they first met. Help them to realize that nothing nor no one is perfect and to look for the good in all things and all people including themselves.  Help them to respect each other's likes and dislikes, opinions and beliefs, hopes and dreams and fears even though they may not always understand them. Help them to learn from each other and to help each other to grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  Help them to realize that no matter what happens to them they will hold on to each other and know that things have a way of working out for the good. Help them to create for their children a peaceful, stable home of love as a foundation on which they can build their lives. But most of all, dear God, help them to keep lit the torch of love' that they now share so that by their loving example they may pass on the light of love to their children and to their children's children forever. Amen.  And now, by the power vested in me by God and the state of Texas, I now pronounce you husband and wife.  Lucas, you may kiss your bride."

Lucas smiles, then kisses Heather.

"Ladies and gentlemen," the minister says.  "I would like to introduce Mr. and Mrs. Lucas Ewing."

The happy couple turns to their family, all of whom applaud their happiness, then Lucas kisses his bride again.

Brad Stone's apartment.....evening

Brad's doorbell rings twice, and he comes out of his bedroom, dressed in black tuxedo pants and white shirt, as he is getting ready for the night's Oil Baron's Ball.  He opens his door, and Marilee barges into the apartment.

"Well, are you almost ready to go to the ball?"  She asks.  "I'd like to get there early."

"Mother, I had no idea you were coming over to go with me."

"I thought that was understood,"  Marilee says.  "I see you aren't fully dressed yet.  Well, hurry up.  I'll wait."

"Mother, there may be a problem,"  Brad says.

"Problem?  What problem?"

"Brad, have you seen my......."  Brittany says as she walks out of the bedroom dressed in an evening gown.

Marilee looks at Brittany, then back at her son.

Brittany smiles.  "Well, Mrs. Stone, hello.  Are you going to be attending the Oil Baron's Ball with Brad and I?"

"With Brad and I?"  Marilee asks.  "My son didn't tell me that you would be attending the ball as his date."

"I didn't figure it was any of your business,"  Brad says.

"Mrs. Ewing, could I have a word alone with my son?"  Marilee asks.

"Certainly,"  Brittany replies.  "I have to finish getting ready anyway."  Brittany returns to the bedroom and closes the door behind her.

Marilee looks at her son.  "Seriously, Bradley.  Sue Ellen's boyfriend's WIFE?"

"Mother, you knew Brittany and I were seeing each other when I took her to the Ewing Barbecue with me."

"And look at the MESS she started there,"  Marilee says.  "I thought you had dumped that woman weeks ago."

"No, as a matter of fact, I've been seeing more of Brittany than ever.  She's been living here with me."

"Please tell me that you're joking."

"I'm NOT," Brad says.  "Now if you will excuse me, I have to go and finish getting dressed for the ball.  If you're planning to go with us, have a seat.  Brittany and I will be ready soon." Brad smiles at his mother, then walks into the bedroom, leaving Marilee exasperated.

Marilee takes a seat on the sofa, and a few seconds later, Brittany comes out of the bedroom.  She smiles at the older woman.  "Would you like a drink, Mrs. Stone?  Or would you mind if I call you Marilee?"

"Actually, I DO mind,"  Marilee says.  "Call me Mrs. Stone."

Brittany looks at her and smiles again.  "Fine.....MRS. Stone.  Drink?"

"No, thank you."

Brittany walks to the bar and pourse herself a drink.  "I'm really looking forward to the ball tonight. Brad tells me it's the social event of the season here in Dallas."  She takes a sip of her drink as she turns back to Marilee, who stands and walks over to her.

"What are you up to, and what is it you want from my son?"  Marilee asks her.

"I have no idea what you mean."

"Come off it, honey.  I've known women like you before, and dealt with them.  I can spot a con artist and gold digger a mile away, and you've got both written right across your forehead in big, bold letters."

"So, that old saying is true, then?"  Brittany asks.  "It takes one to know, one.  But, I'm sorry to disappoint you, MRS. STONE.  But I'm not after anything.  Your son was simply kind enough to give me a place to stay because, thanks to John Ross Ewing, I was kicked out of my apartment and unable to rent another in Dallas."

"Yes, John Ross......another young man you've dallied with,"  Marilee says.  "Don't like men your own age?"

Brittany looks at the woman and laughs.  "My, isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? From what I hear, you like 'em young, too.  And there's nothing wrong with that.  Seems that you and I have a lot in common."

"Honey, you and I have NOTHIN' in common.  Nothin' at all, and after tonight, we won't even have my son in common."

"Meaning?"

"Meaning, that after tonight, you're to move out of this apartment and not to see my son anymore."

"Don't you think Brad is old enough to decide who he sees and who he has as a roommate?"

"Bradley can have anyone he wants as a roommate........just not you."  Marilee opens her purse and takes out her check book.

"What are you doing?"  Brittany asks.

"I'm going to write you a check, Mrs. Ewing.  A check that will rent you a nice little apartment in any other town of your choosing.......just not in Dallas, and not near my son."

Brittany looks at her and crosses her arms.  "You're afraid of me, aren't you, MARILEE?"

"Afraid?  Sweety, HELL will freeze over and it'll rain ice in Dallas in the middle of a summer heat wave before I'm afraid of someone like you."

"But you ARE afraid.  You're afraid because in me, you see yourself.  The same kind of woman......smart, ruthless, a bit of a cutthroat.  Willing to do whatever it takes to get ahead. Well, you can keep your money, Marilee.  Because I think that my sticking around as part of your son's life and seeing you squirm would be worth more money than you could ever afford to pay me."

"You little bitch,"  Marilee says as she starts to slap Brittany, but Brad comes out of the bedroom and Marilee pulls her raised hand back.

"Okay, what's going on in here?"  Brad asks.

"Your mother and I were just getting to know one another," Brittany replies.  "Isn't that right, Marilee?"

"Well, we'd better get going,"  Brad says.  "Mom, are you ready?"

"Oh yes,"  Marilee says, giving Brittany a hard look.  "I'm VERY ready."

"Well, then  let's go."

"I can hardly wait for this ball, and for the main attraction,"  Brittany says with a smile as the three leave the apartment.

Tripp and Pamela's apartment....

Pamela sits alone in the dark of her living room when her doorbell rings.  She ignore the doorbell at first, but it rings a second, then a third time.  Finally, Pamela gets up and walks over and opens the door to Cliff and Afton.

"Sweetheart, why aren't you ready?"  Afton asks as she and Cliff walk in.

"Ready?"  Pamela asks, her voice shaky.

"Yes, ready for the Oil Baron's Ball,"  Cliff says.  "Remember, last night when we talked your mother and I said that we would come by here and you and Tripp and us could all go to the ball together."

"I'm sorry, but we won't be going."

"What do you mean you won't be going?"  Cliff asks.  "Tripp HAS to go, he's the new CEO of Westar.  Where is he, anyway?"

"Pamela, darling, what's wrong?"  Afton asks.

"Tripp knows,"  Pamela says.

"He knows?"  Afton asks.  "He knows about the pregnancy?"

"Yes."

"You told him?"

"No,"  replies Pamela.  "I don't know he found out.  I was gonna tell him last night, but Sharon and her son dropped in and then Tripp and I had another fight, so I never got the chance.  I went to bed and this morning, Tripp came home after being out all night, and he knew.  He was so upset that he walked out."

"Oh, baby, I'm so sorry,"  Afton says, embracing her daughter.

"This is all my fault,"  says Pamela.  "You warned me to be honest with my husband, and now I may have lost him."

"Wait a second,"  says a confused Cliff.  "What the hell is going on here?  Pamela, you're PREGNANT?"

"Yes, Cliff, she's pregnant," Afton replies.

"Then why is Tripp upset?  This should be an occasion for happiness."

"He's upset because he's not the father,"  Pamela says.

"What?  Pam, what are you saying?"

Pamela looks at her father.  "Scott Van Buren is the father of this child.  Daddy, he raped me."

"What?  Van Buren RAPED you and your pregnant?"  Cliff asks, stunned.  "And why the hell wasn't I told about this before now?"

"Cliff, would you please just be quiet?"  Afton asks.  "Pamela, are you alright?"

"I think I may have lost him, Mom.  You were right.  If only I'd listened to you."

"What did Tripp say?"

"He was really angry that I didn't tell him.  And he wanted me to have an abortion."

"Of course, you have to have an abortion,"  says Cliff.  "You can't possibly be thinking about having the child of the man who kidnapped and raped you!"

"Let me make this clear so that EVERYONE will understand," Pamela says.  "I am NOT getting rid of this baby!"

"Pamela, sweetheart, be reasonable,"  Cliff says.

"Just go,"  Pamela says.  "Just go to the ball.  I wanna be alone."

"Darling, I am not leaving you alone,"  says Afton.

"Hunter is asleep.  We'll be fine."

"She's right, maybe we should go,"  Cliff says.

"Cliff, I'm not going to leave her like this."

"Mom, I'll be fine.  I'm just going to wait here until Tripp comes home.  IF he comes home."

"Afton, come on,"  Cliff says.  "Let's go to the ball.  She wants to be alone."

"YOU go,"  Afton says angrily.  "I'm not leaving my daughter."

Cliff looks at the women for a moment.  "Okay, then I'll stay, too.  Pamela's my daughter, as well."

"No, Daddy,"  Pamela says.

"Cliff, go,"  says Afton.  "She'll be alright.  I'll stay with her.  Just go to the ball."

"Okay, I'll go.  But, if you need me, I'll have my phone on.  Call me."

"I will,"  Afton says.

Cliff walks over to his daughter and kisses her.  "I love you, Pam.  Call me if you need me." Cliff turns and leaves.  After he's gone, Pamela breaks down in tears.  Afton embraces her daughter.

Hyatt Regency Hotel....later

Two hours later, the annual Oil Baron's Ball is well under way.  As Bobby, Ann, Christopher, and Courtney mingle with other ball guests, Katherine Wentworth Channing and her son, Austin Wentworth, walk in, Katherine smiling.

"I've been looking forward to this for quite some time,"  Katherine says.  "It feels wonderful to be back in Dallas, and at the Oil Baron's Ball again."

"You could stay in Dallas, you know, Mom,"  Austin says.

"Austin, we've been through this. I've turned Wentworth Industries completely over to you now.  My place is in California with Richard."

"Well I'm just glad that you didn't invite that husband of yours here tonight."

"Darling, you know that, now that Richard owns Falcon Crest, he's busy in California, trying to get the winery back on its feet again,"  Katherine says.  "And trying to no avail to get that stubborn nephew of his, Lance, to work with him."

"Mom, do you really think you're gonna be happy living in California?"  Austin asks.

"I'll be happy anywhere my husband is.  And, don't worry.  I'll be popping in and out of Dallas on occasion to check on you and our family company."  Katherine looks around the crowded ballroom and smiles.  "Well, well, look over there," she says, looking across the crowd at Bobby, Ann, Christopher, and Courtney.  "The Ewings.  Why don't we go say hello?"

"And why WOULD we?"  Austin asks.

"Just to be polite.  Besides, I'd like to say hello to my nephew, Christopher."  Still smiling, Katherine makes her way through the crowd and over to where Bobby and the others are chatting with some other people.  Austin rolls his eyes, then follows his mother.  "Bobby, hello,"  Katherine says, reaching the Ewings.

Bobby turns and looks at his former stalker. "Well, Katherine," he says.  "So much for having a lovely evening."

"It's nice to see you, too.  Aren't you going to welcome me back to Dallas?"

"No, Katherine, I'm not.  So what happened? Did Channing get enough of you and kick you out already?"  Bobby asks.

Katherine laughs.  "Oh, heavens no.  Richard and I are very happy, in fact."

"Well, I'm actually very happy to hear that, Katherine," says Christopher.

"Well, thank you, Christopher.  That means a lot coming from my nephew."

"Don't flatter yourself, Katherine," says Christopher.  "I actually don't give a damn about your happiness.  But your marriage to Richard Channing means it'll keep you OUT of Dallas and far away from my family."

"Still as big a pompous, self righteous jerk as ever, I see, Christopher,"  Austin says.

"And I see that being laid up all those weeks after that explosion in California didn't make you any less of a punk, huh, Austin?"  Christopher asks.  "I guess now that you're back on your feet again, you're also back at the helm at Wentworth."

"Yes, I sure am.  And I haven't forgotten a little score that needs to be settled between our families."

"Bring it on, cousin,"  Christopher says.  "Because I look forward to burying you, AND your company."

"We'll see who gets buried, COUSIN."

"Katherine, why don't you and your little boy just run on along and enjoy the rest of your evening before things get ugly?"  Bobby asks.

Katherine smiles.  "Well, it was lovely seeing you, as always."  She and Austin start to walk away, but Katherine sees Jenna and Harris across the room, then turns back to the Ewings. "Bobby, I see that Jenna Wade is here with your wife's ex-husband.  Very interesting.  Y'know, looking back after all these years, I actually think it's a shame that you and Jenna didn't get married after all.  Perhaps if you had, you wouldn't have been alone all those years."

"And we both know why Jenna and I didn't get married, don't we, Katherine?"  Bobby asks.  "It's because you brought Naldo Marchetta back into Jenna's life to break us up, and I don't know how, but some day, and some HOW, Katherine, I'm gonna prove that you were the one behind Naldo's murder."

Katherine looks at him angrily for a moment.  "You really ARE delusional, Bobby," she says, calmly.  "And I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about."

"Mom, let's go,"  Austin says.  "It stinks over here."

"Have a nice evening,"  Katherine says.

Austin looks at Christopher, then at Courtney.  "One thing I can say for you, Christopher.  You have damned fine taste in beautiful women," he says, then he and Katherine walk away.

"Bobby, let's dance,"  Ann says.  "Don't let those two spoil your evening."

Bobby angrily watches Katherine and Austin as they make their way through the crowd.  "It just irritates me no end that that woman is walkin' around free and not in prison where she belongs."

Meanwhile, John Ross and Krystina walk over to Jay and Jill, who are dancing.  "Evenin', you two,"  John Ross says.

"Hello, John Ross,"  says Jay.  "Krystina, you look lovely."

"Thank you, Jay,"  Krystina says.

"Say, counselor, mind if I danced with my little sister?" John Ross asks.

"Not at all.  Krystina, would you like to dance?"  Jay asks.

"I'd love to."

As Jay and Krystina begin their dance, John Ross looks at Jill.

"I'm real glad to see you here tonight," he says.

"I started not to,"  Jill says.  "After all, I'm not exactly in the oil business anymore, am I?"

"No, but you could be,"  John Ross says. "My offer to come on board at Ewing Oil is still open."

"I think that your Mom and Bobby and Christopher would have something to say about that, wouldn't they?"

"They'd love the idea.  Bringin' a smart, savy young business woman like you on board......it'd be a win-win situation on both sides."

"I'll think about it,"  Jill says.

"Good.  Now, as far as our other business is concerned, have you noticed who is NOT here tonight?"

"No, not really.  There's a LOT of people here."

"Yes, but Tripp and Pamela McKay are conspicuously absent from tonight's ball,"  John Ross says.

"Come to think of it, no, they aren't here,"  says Jill.  "Which is strange, since Tripp is now head of Westar."

John Ross smiles.  "Well, somethin' prob'ly came up," he says.

Jill looks at him with suspicion.  "What do you mean by that?  And what do you know about Tripp and Pamela's NOT being here tonight?"

"Nothin',"  John Ross replies, trying to look innocent.  "What makes you think I'd know anything about McKay's life?"

"Because I know YOU, big brother," Jill says as the music stops. The crowd applauds the band, and Jay and Krystina walk over to them.

"Krystina, thank you for the dance, I enjoyed it,"  Jay says.

"So did I, Jay."

"Well, we will see you all later,"  John Ross says, as he and Krystina walk away from them.

"So what was that all about?"  Jay asks.  "You and John Ross looked like two cats who just split a canary dinner."

"John Ross asked me to join Ewing Oil."

"Well I hope you told him no,"  Jay says.

"I told him I would think about it."

"Seriously, Jill?"  Jay asks in disgust.  "You're going to work at Ewing Oil?"

"Maybe, Jay, I don't know.  But it's definitely something to consider."

"I was really hoping that, after you lost your job at Westar, that you'd......"

"That I'd WHAT, Jay?  Be ready to settle into the life of a housewife and have babies? Well I'm not.  My not being ready to be a mother had nothing to do with Westar."

Jay looks at her.  "You keep saying you're not ready.  But I'm beginning to wonder if you ever even intend on having children with me."  Jay turns and walks away from his wife.

Jill sighs in anger and frustration that she and Jay are having this same argument again.

Meanwhile, John Ross and Krystina are standing at the bar after ordering drinks when Brittany walks up beside them.  "Bartender,"  Brittany says.  "Two scotch on the rocks.  John

Ross, Krystina," she says, turning to the couple.  "Krystina, you're looking lovely tonight.  And John Ross, handsome as ever."

Krystina rolls her eyes as John Ross gives the woman an angry glare.  "What in the HELL are you doin' here?"  He asks.

"The lady's here with me,"  Brad says, walking up beside Brittany.

"Well, that figures,"  says Krystina.  "Trash will certainly flock to other trash."

"Just who are you calling trash, you cardboard Barbie?" Brittany asks.

"Krystina, that wasn't a very nice thing to say, considering the guy you're married to here is PURE trash,"  Brad says.

"You son of a....."  John Ross starts toward Brad.

"John Ross, don't,"  Krystina says, placing her hand on her husband's chest to restrain him. "Not here.  They aren't worth it."

"You're right, darlin',"  John Ross says, glaring at Brad.  "I wouldn't dirty my hands on the bastard son of Cliff Barnes and Marilee Stone."

Brad laughs at the comment.  "John Ross, that is particularly funny coming out of your mouth, given that, were it not for a tiny little stroke of luck on your mother's part, you could also be a bastard son of Cliff Barnes."

"And need I remind you that you also have two illegitimate sons, John Ross,"  Brittany says.  "So I would think you'd be a little more careful about tossing that word bastard around so freely."

"John Ross is a hypocrite,"  Brad says.  "He kicked his wife off Southfork while having an affair with you."

"Stone,"  John Ross says.  "You have no idea how much I'm gonna enjoy tearin' your sorry life apart, piece by piece.  And YOU, Miss Brittany......you should've took my warnin' and left Dallas when you had the chance, because now.......I'm gonna destroy you right along with this son of a bitch."

"And I will GLADLY use every resource at my disposal to help my husband,"  Krystina says.  "And together, our resources are.........pretty much unlimited.  Enjoy the rest of your evening.......while you still can."  Krystina and John Ross walk away from them.

"Somehow, I will find a way to bring John Ross Ewing down,"  Brad says.

"I think it's time to put my little plan against his mother in motion,"  says Brittany as she watches Sue Ellen and Catlin across the room, chatting with Bobby, Ann, Ray, and Donna.

A few minutes later, Catlin and Sue Ellen are about to take their seats at their table with C.J. and his date, when Brittany and Brad walk over to them.

"Hello, C.J.,"  Brittany says, smiling.

C.J. sighs.  "Mom," he says, not happy to see his mother.

"Well, how are you all doing this evening?"  Brittany asks.

"We were doing just fine until you two showed up," replies Catlin.

"Hey, why don't you just tone it down a notch, cowboy?"  Brad asks.

"I don't even know you, Mr. Stone, or Barnes, or whatever your name is.  But already I'm sick to death of you."

"Trust me, pal, no sicker than I am of you,"  Brad says.

"Well, why don't you and this......woman you came here with just move on?"  Catlin asks, standing to face Brad.

"You plan on making me?"

"Dad, come on, not here,"  C.J. says, standing and placing his hand on his father's shoulder.

"Catlin, please, sit down,"  Sue Ellen says.  "We don't need a scene."

Catlin and Brad continue to glare at each other for a few seconds.  In the midst of the distraction, while all eyes are on Brad and Catlin, a waiter comes along, trips, and spills a drink on Sue Ellen's dress.

"Oh, for heaven's sake!"  Sue Ellen gasps, quickly getting up from her seat.

"Oh, my God, Mrs. Ewing, I'm so sorry," the embarrassed young waiter says.  "Here, let me help."  He grabs several napkins and hands them to her.

"Sue Ellen, are you alright?"  Catlin asks.

"Yes, I'm fine," she replies.

"Mrs. Ewing, you'd better go try and wash that off before it stains,"  C.J. date suggests.

"Yes, I think you're right,"  says Sue Ellen.

In the midst of the confusion, Brittany walks over to Sue Ellen's chair, pretending to watch as Sue Ellen tries to wipe the wine from her dress with napkins.  With all eyes on Sue Ellen and her mishap, Brittany quietly slips a small vial from her pocket, opens it, and secretly pours the liquid contents of the vial into Sue Ellen's glass of club soda.

"Sue Ellen, you really should hurry and go wash that off, or it'll leave a nasty stain," says Brittany.

Sue Ellen gives her rival an angry look.  "Thank you, but I certainly don't need YOUR advice."

"What happened?"  Ann asked, walking over with Bobby.

"Oh, this waiter spilled a drink on Sue Ellen," Catlin replies.

"Come on, Sue Ellen, let's go wash that off," Ann says.

Sue Ellen nods, then she, Ann, and C.J.'s date all head to the women's room to try and salvage Sue Ellen's dress.  Brittany smiles, winks at Brad, and the two walk away.

As Brad and Brittany return to Marilee's table, Cliff walks over.  "Brad, hi,"  Cliff says.

"Hello, Cliff,"  Brad says, greeting his father with a handshake.

"Marilee, how are you?"  Cliff asks.

"Fine, Cliff,"  Marilee says, annoyed.

"And.....this young lady......I remember you,"  Cliff says to Brittany.

"I'm Brittany Ewing, Mr. Barnes."

"Oh, yes, you're married to the guy Sue Ellen is involved with,"  Cliff says with a laugh.

"Cliff, where are Pamela and her husband?"  Brad asks.  "I was hoping they would be here tonight.  I'd really like the chance to get to know them a little."

"Yeah, well, they were gonna come, but, something came up.  Pamela wasn't feeling well, so they stayed home,"  Cliff lies.

Meanwhile, Katherine and Austin are taking their seats at their nearby table, and Katherine is watching Cliff, Brad, and Marilee, an angry look on her face.  "Just look at them," she says. "Doesn't that sight make you sick?  That little worm, Cliff Barnes with his son and his son's mother."

"Yeah, I wonder what happened to Afton," Austin wonders.

"Knowing Cliff, she's probably gotten sick of him and moved out of his apartment.  Oh my God, he's coming over here,"  Katherine says as Cliff is approaching them.

"Katherine, this is an unpleasant surprise,"  Cliff says.  "I thought, or I'd HOPED you had set up permanent housekeeping in California with your new husband.  Or is that over already?"

"Cliff, just go away,"  Katherine says.

Cliff laughs.  "Well, Richard Channing must have finally wised up and realized what a dangerous psychopath you really are."

"Old man, would you like a mouth full of teeth?"  Austin asks, standing to face his uncle.

"Whoa, now, just calm down.  Katherine, call off your watchdog. I was just making polite conversation."

"We can do without your polite conversation, Cliff," Katherine says.

"Okay, fine,"  Cliff says.  "But you know that old saying, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen?  You've made quite a few enemies here in Dallas, sister, dear, myself included.  So if you can't stand the insults, you should've stayed in California."  Cliff laughs, then walks away.

Austin retakes his seat.  "God, I despise him."

"Me too,"  says Katherine.  "I should've taken care of Cliff Barnes years ago when I had the chance."

"Well, Mom, you know what they say.  It's never too late."

Katherine looks at her son and smiles.

Across the room, Bobby and Christopher are sitting at the table with Catlin and C.J. chatting when Sue Ellen, Ann, and C.J.'s date return.

"Did you get it out?"  Catlin asks.

"I think so,"  Sue Ellen replies, retaking her seat.

"We put some cold water on it, so it shouldn't stain, hopefully,"  Ann says.

"I certainly hope not, this was an expensive dress,"  Sue Ellen says as she takes a sip of her drink, Brittany watching with a smile from a distance.

"Well, we'd better get back to our own table,"  Bobby says.  "I think they're gonna be starting soon."

"We'll talk to you guys later,"  Catlin says as Bobby, Ann, and Christopher leave.  "Sue Ellen, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, it's just......seeing that woman here, it just....."  Sue Ellen pauses a moment.  "C.J., I'm sorry.  I know Brittany's your mother, but....."

"Sue Ellen, it's fine,"  says C.J.  "You don't have to explain anything to me."

Sue Ellen takes another sip of her drink, then finishes it off.

Across the room, Brittany walks up to the bar and orders another drink as John Ross walks up behind her.

"I don't know what the hell kinda game you're playin', lady, but it ends, NOW," John Ross says angrily.

"Seriously, John Ross?  These threats of your are really getting old."

"Is that a fact?  Well, I'm done makin' threats.  Get your ass out of Dallas by the end of tonight......or you will REGRET the day you ever set foot in this town and crossed paths with me.  Who knows.......if you're not gone by the time that clock strikes 2017.......you might just not make it to see the new year."

Brittany turns to him.  "That sounds like a death threat to me."

"More like a promise.  Do yourself a favor and leave Dallas while you still can."  John Ross looks at her for a second, blood in his eye, then turns and walks away, leaving Brittany shaking from his threat, but at the same time, more resolved than ever to stay in Dallas and exact her revenge on the Ewings.

At that moment, the night's Master of Ceremonies takes the stage.  "Ladies and gentlemen, please, everyone be finding your seat now.  Thank you."  The man waits until the crowd takes their assigned seats and the room begins to get quiet.  "Thank you," he continues.  "Thank you all, and welcome to the annual Oil Baron's Ball.  I'm Josh Bannister, your Master Of Ceremonies for this evening, and chairman of the committee which put this event together.  Now I know you're all enjoying dancing and socializing with friends, but before you get back to doing that we need to take  care of a little business first.  Our first item of business for the evening.........many years ago, at the Oil Baron's Ball in 1982, the family of the late, great Jock Ewing set up the Jock Ewing Memorial Scholarship to be awarded each year to five worthy students at Southern Methodist University.  Since 1982, 170 young people have benefited from this scholarship, and tonight, five more worthy students will receive this scholarship.  Here to present the names of the recipients of this year's Jock Ewing Memorial Scholarship is a man who was among the 1986 recipients of the scholarship. Please welcome, Dr. Kenneth Fletcher."

The room erupts into thunderous applause as Fletcher, a man of about 50, stands and makes his way to the podium.  As Fletcher begins talking, Sue Ellen begins to feel woozy and light headed, and voices begin to sound distorted in her head.  Noticing a strange look on her face, Catlin leans over to her.  "Sue Ellen, what's wrong?"

"I......I'm fine, just feeling a little light headed," she replies, her speech beginning to slur.

"Do you need to leave?"  Catlin asks.

"No.  I have to be onstage when the J.R. Ewing Scholarship is awarded."

As Fletcher names the five recipients of the Jock Ewing Scholarship, Sue Ellen feels more and more disoriented, a feeling she hasn't experienced since the last time she had gotten drunk, well over two years ago.  Voices are distorted, and the room seems as if it's spinning, but she tries to maintain her composure for the sake of the evening, but Sue Ellen is privately beginning to wonder if she had accidentally drank some alcohol instead of club soda.  But wouldn't she have noticed the taste?  She wonders.  She is startled by the sound of applause as Fletcher finishes naming the recipients of the Jock Ewing Scholarship and leaves the stage.

The MC, Josh Bannister, again takes the podium.  "Thank you very much, Dr. Fletcher.  Last year, the Ewing family set up a similar scholarship in memory of the late J.R. Ewing, son of Jock and Ellie Ewing Farlow.  The family even established the J.R. Ewing Foundation, which, since the announcement of its creation at last year's ball, has raised over $25 million for cancer research and education.  So now, without any further ado, I'd like to ask the Ewing family to come on stage and announce the 2017 recipients of the J.R. Ewing Memorial Scholarship."

To thunderous applause, Bobby, Christopher, John Ross, Krystina, Jill, and Jay stand and make their way to the stage.  As Sue Ellen stands from her seat, she stumbles, and Catlin has to catch her.  "Hey, I think I'd better go up there with you, unless you wanna just stay seated,"  Catlin says.

"No I'll be fine,"  she says.  "Just help me onstage."

Taking her by the hand, Catlin leads Sue Ellen to the stage and they make their way up the steps with great difficulty, as the crowd watches, including John Ross and the rest of the assembled Ewings onstage.  John Ross comes over and takes his mother by the arm and continues to lead her on stage.

"Mama, you alright?"  John Ross whispers to her.

"I'm....fine,"  Sue Ellen mumbles, as if drunk, causing John Ross concern.

Once all of the Ewings are onstage, John Ross takes the podium, but no sooner has he let go of his mother's arm than Sue Ellen again stumbles.  Catlin grabs for her, but she falls to the floor.  John Ross and Bobby rush over to her as all eyes in the room fall on her.

"Mama,"  John Ross says, kneeling to his mother.

"John Ross.....I......."

"Sue Ellen, what is it?"  Bobby asks.

"I don't know,"  she answers, her speech badly slurred.

"Damn it, she's been drinkin',"  John Ross says quietly.  "She's drunk!"

"That's impossible, all she had was club soda,"  Catlin says.

"You so sure 'bout that?"  An angry John Ross asks.

"Come on, we need to get her off stage,"  Bobby whispers.  "Catlin, take her to one of the rooms down the hall.  We'll get a doctor to come check on her."

"Thanks Bobby,"  Catlin says.  He and John Ross pick Sue Ellen up.  She is conscious, but very disoriented as Catlin carries her off stage, John Ross following behind as the entire room watches with great curiosity, some, such as Brittany and Cliff, watching with smiles on their faces, taking delight in the Ewing family's public embarrassment.

Bobby takes the podium in John Ross's place. "Folks, everything is alright,"  Bobby says.  "Sue Ellen hasn't been feeling well lately, and we're gonna have a doctor check her out."

Meanwhile, John Ross and Catlin lead Sue Ellen into a room down the hall from the ballroom. They place her on a sofa.  She opens her eyes and looks up at them.  "John Ross, Catlin," she says softly.  "What's going on?  What's happening?"

"Sue Ellen, you're alright,"  Catlin says.  "I'm going to get you some coffee."

John Ross looks at his mother.  "Why, Mama?  You been sober for over two years, so why NOW?!  WHY TONIGHT!?"

Sue Ellen looks up at him, her vision blurred, a confused look on her face.  "John Ross, I..... I didn't..........I, I didn't,"  she mumbles.

"I can't BELIEVE you would do this tonight of all nights!"

"John Ross, just shut the hell up,"  says Catlin.  "You're not helping."

"This is all your fault,"  John Ross angrily says to him.  "If you hadn't come into her life, she might have stayed sober!"

"John Ross, you're really pushing your luck with me right now."

"Stop.....please.....stop,"  Sue Ellen begs in her stuporous state.

"Just leave, John Ross,"  says Catlin.  "You're obviously upsetting her.  Just go back to the ball.  I'll take care of your mother."

John Ross looks at him for a few seconds, then at Sue Ellen.  Without saying another word, he turns and walks out of the room.  A few moments later, as he returns to the ballroom, the Oil Baron's Ball has resumed and the attendees are dancing again.  Krystina, Bobby, and Ann walk over to John Ross.

"Is Sue Ellen alright?"  Ann asks, worried about her friend.

"Hell no, she's not alright."

"What's the matter with her?"  Krystina asks.

"She's drunk, that's what's the matter."

"Drunk?"  Bobby asks.

"That's impossible,"  says Ann.

"It's NOT impossible.  She's a damned alcoholic.  She's been sober for more'n two years but tonight of ALL nights, she decided she wanted to start drinkin' again."

"Oh, no,"  Bobby says with a sigh.

"Is your mother alright, John Ross?"  Comes Brittany's voice from behind them.  John Ross turns around and finds Brad and Brittany standing there.  "She was clearly having some serious issues."

"She was clearly drunk,"  Brad says.  "Shame she had to embarrass your whole family like that on stage."

Unable to control his anger any longer, John Ross walks over to Brad and punches him across the face, knocking him to the floor to the gasp of those around them.  Then without saying a word, he walks away, followed by Krystina, Bobby, and Ann.

Brittany kneels and helps Brad to his feet.  "Are you okay?"  She asks.

Brad wipes blood from his lip.  "Look, just get lost, will ya?"

"Why the hell are you mad at ME?"

Brad looks at her, wipes his mouth again, and smiles.  "Because your last name is EWING.  I'm gonna take John Ross down, and I'm gonna do it all on my own, without your help.  So just go back to my apartment, pack your bags, and get the hell out," he says as Marilee walks over.

"You alright?"  Marilee asks her son.

"Fine."

"You'd better go to the men's room and wash your lip," Marilee says.

Brad looks at Brittany, then walks away.

"I heard what my son just told you," Marilee says to Brittany

"I heard what my son just said to you.  It'd be wise for you to do as he says and leave,"  Marilee says.

"You people aren't going to get rid of me THAT easily," says Brittany.

Marilee looks at the woman.  "Honey, there's more than one way to get rid of a pest," she says, then walks away from her.

"No," Brittany says to herself after Marilee walks away.  "They are NOT getting rid of me that easily."  She turns and heads down a hallway toward a ladies room.

Meanwhile, Krystina walks up to Bobby and Ann.  "Have either of you seen John Ross since that altercation with Brad?"

"No, we haven't, we thought he was with you,"  Bobby says.

"No.  He walked away from me.  He's so upset and so angry, I don't know what he'll do," Krystina says.  "I need to find him."  She turns and walks away.

"Well, this certainly hasn't been the best evening for the Ewings, has it?"  Ann asks.

Bobby sighs.  "No, it certainly hasn't."

A room down the hall....

Carrying two cups of coffee, Catlin returns to the room where he had left Sue Ellen laying on the sofa only a couple of minutes earlier, and finds her gone.  "Sue Ellen," he calls.  "Sue Ellen, where are you?"  He puts the coffee down on a table and looks in the next room.  No sign of Sue Ellen.  An angry look coming over his face, Catlin rushes from the room.

Meanwhile....

Brittany is washing her hands at a sink in the ladies' room when the door opens.  She pays no attention at first to the sound of footsteps coming up behind her, as she continues washing her hands.  She reaches over and grabs three paper towels from the machine and dries her hands.  Then she looks up into the mirror and sees whoever has come into the restroom behind her.  A look of shock comes over her face.  She turns to face the person.  "You?  What are you doing in here?"  She asks.  No sooner has she gotten the words out, than a knife plunges into her abdomen, causing her to gasp, then double over in pain.  She reaches down and grabs her abdomen, her hands becoming covered in blood.  The knife plunges in again, just above where Brittany is holding her hands over the first wound.  As she falls to the floor, closing her eyes, the mysterious assailant walks out of the ladies' room slowly, leaving Brittany on the floor, bleeding and gasping for breath.

Back in the ballroom, the ball continues, the attendees unaware of the horror that has just taken place in the restroom down the hall.  Two young women head from the ballroom and down the hall, chatting as they go.  A moment later they walk into the ladies' room, and the first thing they see is the bloodied body of Brittany Peterson Ewing lying on the floor in front of the sinks.  Both young women let out earth shattering screams at the horrific sight!

Marie, I feel the same way. Brittany got exactly what she deserved. Causing all this havoc for enemies like John Ross, Brad Stone, her ex-husband Catlin, her son CJ, Krystina, her ex-lovers wife, Marliee Stone, her new lovers mother. It could be anybody of those suspects.

Oh mercy, one of your best yet. Wonder who put the knife into Brittany. So glad someone did it though. She was such a wicked woman. So many suspects. She was hated by many from Dallas. Thank you again John for your hard work. Can't wait to read the next episode, but am to tired to read it tonight. Loved every minute of this story. Thank you so much, John.

Wow just wow John 4 hours of and Episode worth waiting for with the Killing of Brittney as the cliff hanger. I loved it about time she got what was coming to her lol. I am so glad Heather and Lucas Got Married. I'm glad the oil barons ball went well until after waiter spilled wine on Sue Ellen's dress then it went haywire. Its going to be funny if Brad goes home early not knowing that Britney's been killed wondering why she hasn't go her stuff and left his apartment. Heather was a beautiful bride. I hadn't heard or seen anything about Justin and Amanda since they went to Lucas wedding after Justin and Jill talked about his walking secret I am so glad his getting back to walking so happy for him. But I hate to see what happens with jimmy and Amanda in his plan. It was so wrong for John Ross to have Bum to get Pamela's Medical Records and scan them to Tripp. But also like Afton said she should have told Tripp now she's afraid she going to lose him since he walked out on her. I understand she needed time but she said after the reading of the Will and before New Years Eve well after he read the email that Bum sent to him he found out before New Years Eve aright. I just hope he comes back home to Pamela they talk and try to save their marriage before its too later for them. That's all I got for tonight! I sure love this Show! Until the Next Episode I cant wait for 129. Good Night!
